A. SISTERS OF ADVERSITY WORKSHOP
Unfortunately, many women have experienced some form of domestic violence within their lifetime; if nothing other than the controlling behavior of dominance. Amazingly, women in the Old Testament and New Testament can give women of today insight and hindsight into complex situations that will Empower us, Encourage us, help us to Esteem one another and will teach us how to let go of a sinful lifestyle; as well as, the benefits of living according to the Spirit. These women are: Salty Wives: (Leah & Joanne) Missy Blanch Wright – District #2, Sis. Virginia Cottrell – District #1, Spirited Mothers: (Hagar & Syrophenecian Women) Evang. Dewan Polk – District #1, Evang. Eleanor Tait – District #9 Savvy Widows: (Naomi & Widow of Zarepath) Evang. Davetta Stafford – District #6, Pastor Regina Sheffield – District #9 Let us envision and instill capable women with purpose, persistence, and perseverance in the name of our Lord. B. Skit: “Damaged Goods” directed by Min. Jacqueline Sheffield, District 9, is a skit about a group of young women that have had a more than troubled past. They are sent to a church counseling session where things get even worse. This well performed skit basically deals with just about every issue that we see occurring in our society today. The skit ends with the pastor’s testimony of how she overcame her past. C. “Praying On Purpose” Workshop presented by Pastor Barbara Dillard, District 5, is designed specifically for those who would like to learn more about intercessory prayer. Whether new to intercession or a seasoned prayer warrior, this workshop on Intercessory Prayer will provide a broadened view and a fresh perspective in various areas of intercession. |
