"Hold Up The Light" "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." KJV Ps 119:105
We are living in difficult times. Darkness is encroaching from every side. Satan's powers and influence appears to be growing at an alarming rate. Even the church has been plunged into some murky waters of discontent. The illuminating, clarifying power of God's word is needed as never before.
According to the scriptures, God's word is a light that helps us to follow the right paths of life. God's word not only informs us of his will, but it will also light the way to God's will. The Hebrews did not have the advantage of modern lighting as we do today. They carried crude clay dishes that burnt oil. The light was only bright enough to illuminate their next step. They could not see yards ahead of them. We understand that spiritually speaking, we do not walk by sight, but by faith. Each act of obedience brings us one step closer to God's perfect will. As we continue to walk in the light of obedience, we will eventually arrive at our divine destination. In these difficult times, I pray that we will all be willing to hold up the light of God's word and guide our steps by his divine illumination.
